Hazrat Malik bin Dinar (may Allah have mercy on him) once rented a house near the house of a Jew. His room was adjacent to the door of the Jew.
The Jew, out of enmity, built a gutter that would put all the filth in your house and make your place of prayer najis. He did this for a long time, but you never complained.
One day the Jew himself said that you do not have any problem because of my gutter. He said that I wash the dirt that falls from the gutter daily with brooms so I do not have any problem.
The Jew asked, "Have you never been angry even after suffering so much?" He said, "God Almighty commands that those who control their anger are not only forgiven of their sins, but they are also rewarded."
Upon hearing this, the Jew said, "Of course, your religion is very good, because it tells you to be patient with your opponents, so I accept Islam today with all my heart."
